Patient Participation Group (PPG)

What is the patient participation group?

This is a group of patients who are registered at the practice who are invited to come in and speak to the practice staff at regular intervals during the year. The workings behind this group are to obtain a patient’s perspective of the practice and work with us to try and improve our services. It is a platform where the patient’s voice is heard and acted upon within reasonable limits.

How can I sign up?

If you would be interested to join the group, please email the practice manager directly on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. You can also inform the reception staff of your interest or any of the clinicians during your consultation.

When will the meetings be held?

The next meetings will be held as below at 18.00

Friday 2 Sep 16

14 Oct 2015

Wed 17 June 2015

Wed 14 Oct 2015

Wed 17 Feb 2016

What happens if I cannot attend the meeting?

If you are not able to come along, we will still be happy to consider your ideas and you can send these in to the practice manager by email. You will be sent the copies of the meeting minutes too at all times.

What about patient confidentiality?

We will not be discussing specific patient cases at these meetings. The purpose of the meetings is to improve the services and suggest ways to enhance the surgery. No patient names or cases will be discussed with the actual participants of the group.

What do the patient surveys relate to?

We need to carry out an annual patient survey in order to obtain views of as many patients as possible after we have had our group meetings. The surveys will be designed to reflect the points that have been discussed at the group meetings. We will be offering patients to take part in the survey when they come in to the surgery. The survey will be confidential and there is no requirement to put your name on the forms. You can even request an electronic copy of the survey by email and send this in. The results of the survey will help us to decide which areas of improvement need to be addressed as a priority.
