Eligibility for Mounjaro for weight loss on the NHS

There has been a lot of enquiries to our Surgery for Mounjaro. To clarify, the NHS has very strict guidance about who is eligible to receive this weight loss drug. The following criteria applies:

People must have:

• a BMI of 40 or over (37.5 if from an ethnic background)
• 4 out of 5 of the following conditions: type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and vascular disease, high cholesterol and obstructive sleep apnoea.

Unfortunately if you do not fulfil all of the above criteria we will not be able to prescribe this medication for you.
